In high school I had a 2007 Nissan Frontier (V6, RWD). Even I learned snap over steer with it, I want another one. It was the perfect size: 1/2 cab, 6.1ft box. It’s proportions also looked perfect, it had the perfect ratio of cab:box. It engine was also really fun, the big 4L VQ did excellent burn outs (also made a really good noise). Damn, now I want on again.
I’ll miss the 2nd gen Frontier, sure it is dragged on but it aged really well. The body lines are clean, simple, & honest. You can say the Tacoma is better truck, but in my heart a Frontier will hold a special place.
But this happen one night with me driving it:

I’m almost with you. I prefer the 1G Xterra and Frontier though.
Nissan did the 1g trucks just right for “modders” the 4 cyl had 4.90 gears and the VG33E rigs had 4.60 gears. Which proved helpful when I (accidentally) stuffed 33x12.50s under it. Sadly, everyone ignored Nissan’s brilliance in the true Pathy successor. Sometimes “MOAR POWAH!” isn’t the answer.

That 4L V6 was not a massive power house, it only made with 260hp/280lb-ft. The only thing I did not like was the fuel, it had a big drinking problem.

I hit a tree at 80kph, then it flipped. It landed hard on the roof. The doors where jammed shut, I had to kick out the passenger window. The truck was a written off.

The 4.0 was no joke for sure. And it sounds great.

That 4.0 had a insanely flat torque curve, it made it do really good doughnuts.

Those are super short final gears

Having owned a 1st gen and currently a 2nd Gen xterra, I’ll say the 4.0 feels way better than the 3.3 did. Plus timing chain is a preference for me.

Adrenaline does strange things. Kicking tempered glass is hard.

Some V6 rigs had 4.90s also, I have D22 4.9s in my HB
